Discovering Venus: The Beginning

"When I started developing Venus Rising I didn't have a particular idea in mind. As lyrics and melodies came through, I realized there was an unplanned consistency. Serendipity. An ebb and flow of hope and lingering remorse. Change and the resistance to it. As this concept took shape I found myself imagining Botticelli's Birth of Venus. The resilience and hope that I've always felt from that painting started to reflect in myself, my music and the world around me."
